Community Professional’s weather-resistant WET and R-Series loudspeakers have been certified by an independent testing laboratory to meet stringent military-level durability specifications, the company announced recently.

Testing was performed by MET Labs, which is based in Baltimore, Md., and has offices in Silicon Valley, North Carolina, China, and South Korea.

Community’s WET and R-Series loudspeaker lines passed military-standard MIL-STD-810G tests for resistance to salt fog , humidity, solar radiation, extreme high temperatures, and extreme low temperatures, company officials said. The stringent “mil-spec” tests are commonly administered by the United States Armed Forces to evaluate a product’s ability to perform in austere conditions.

“With last year’s introduction of custom-color matched grilles and yokes using our proprietary two-layer powder coating process, demand for WET and R-Series loudspeakers has grown,” said Julia Lee, Community’s director of marketing, in a statement. “We’re very proud that the WET and R-Series continue to lead in outdoor sound performance.”
