Crestron Expands QM Line of Transmitters

Crestron recently unveiled the latest addition to its QuickMedia line of signal transport solutions. The QM-RX1-2G receiver integrates 16 separate cables into a single Cat-5-type wire, to streamline presentation system design and installation. Once it receives the QM signal, the receiver outputs the AV signals-which can include HD, high-res computer graphics, and four channels of 24-bit digital audio-to the display device.

With built-in display control, audio DSP, and stereo amplifier, the QM-RX1-2G offers connectivity for a display device, screen, lift, and loudspeakers, and removes the need for outboard audio processing, according to the company.

Well suited for installation behind a flat-panel display or above a ceiling-mounted projector, the QM-RX1-2G mounts onto a standard two-gang U.S., U.K., or European electrical box. Bidirectional RS-232 and IR/serial ports enable control of the display device without additional wiring, says the company, and two relay ports are included on the QM-RX1-2G to control a projection screen or lift. Signal routing occurs automatically, based on the input source selected at the QM transmitter.

According to Crestron, a digital input port can accommodate a room occupancy sensor or power sensor for enhanced automation and monitoring. Connections for the display device and loudspeakers are all positioned on the top and bottom of the receiver, while the QM cable and screen/lift connectors are located behind the unit within the electrical box.

The QM-RX1-2G receiver is available in black or white.
