Crestron introduced new DigitalMedia (DM) matrix switchers with redundant power supplies (RPS). Crestron DM switchers, which are card-based and field-configurable, deliver low-latency switching and lossless distribution of HDMI and other signals, according to the company.

All models include the same built-in, 1 million-hour MTBF power supply. The new RPS models add redundancy to ensure continuous operation throughout the life of the system, Crestron officials said. RPS model switchers are ideal for broadcast environments and government applications such as network operations, command and control, and emergency operations.

LEDs on the front panel of RPS DigitalMedia switchers show the status of each individual power supply. Remote monitoring is also available via Crestron RoomView software or any control system touchpanel.

“DM matrix switchers with RPS are perfect for government, military, broadcast and other mission-critical applications,” said Vincent Bruno, Crestron director of marketing, in a statemenrt. “To fully serve those markets, it’s important that our DM switchers, especially the 32X32, meet all specs that require power redundancy.”
