Crestron has begun shipping its new TPMC-9 tilt touch panel. At 9 inches widescreen, company officials call the TPMC-9 “the perfect-sized touch screen, large enough to enjoy a full, rich interactive user experience with a stylish design that remains discreet in any setting.” The widescreen display allows more space for designing custom graphical interfaces, and a larger viewing area for cover art, control apps, and other dynamic content. TPMC-9 also offers new media and communications tools, according to Creston, such as widgets and high-definition streaming video for IP and Web-based security cameras that can enhance whole-home and building automation systems.

“The new TPMC-9 offers value for a touch panel of this size,” said Vincent Bruno, Crestron director or marketing, in a statement. “This Core 3 OS-ready touchscreen is perfect for demanding system designers and interior designers.”

TPMC-9 enables advanced graphics and animations, including cover flow and page flips. Gesture navigation with intelligent velocity support makes finger swipe control of theater systems, lighting, AV networks, thermostats, security cameras, and other connected home or building systems faster and easier, according to the company. The TPMC-9 is engineered to support the new Crestron Core 3 OS. The open standards-based Core 3 OS will run Flash, HTML 5, and the latest H.264 high definition video formats.

The TPMC-9’s tilt screen can be freely adjusted or locked down at up to a 45-degree angle for optimal viewing and operation. Crestron says it complements any interior design in residential and commercial settings.
