Haivision Beefs Up Federal Team

Haivision, which makes end-to-end IP video and digital signage solutions, announced the appointment of Andy Vaughan as vice president of U.S. federal sales.

Haivision, which makes end-to-end IP video and digital signage solutions, announced the appointment of Andy Vaughan as vice president of U.S. federal sales. In addition, Haivision has doubled its federal team to address the growing demands for performance video with metadata encoding technology, IP video distribution systems, and digital signage solutions, company officials said.

“Haivision is providing the highest performance technology for U.S. federal IP video applications,” said Mirko Wicha, president and CEO of Haivision Network Video, in a statement. “We realize the critical nature of supporting troops with intelligent video that is delivered securely and without delay. Our organization is committed to this challenge and to developing related tactical technologies.”

In addition to promoting Vaughan to vice president, Haivision also named Eunice Zachry Hill as the sales director for U.S. Navy, Joint Forces, and civilian accounts; Tommy L. Coleman as the sales director for the U.S. Air Force and defense intelligence; and Alex Beck as a systems engineer. They join Haivision’s current federal team, which has further open positions.

Haivision said it has deployed its Piranha low-latency H.264 encoder technology extensively to backhaul and distribute video with metadata from manned and unmanned airborne vehicles. For airborne applications, Haivision has also introduced a ruggedized version of its Makito technology, the Makito AIR, which delivers H.264 HD video (to 1080p60) with metadata and an e encoding performance of fewer than 70 milliseconds.

“Our newest personnel round out our experienced federal team, allowing Haivision to focus on the specific needs of each major federal segment,” said Vaughan in a statement. “Our new team members bring extensive commercial and technical expertise along with expanded security clearance.”
