The video processor combines the functions of a video scaler, scan converter, and format transformer. Applications include connecting a PC or notebook’s VGA video and audio to any HDTV using one HDMI cable. The SC-VHD-HDMI also includes a horizontal mirroring feature, which the company says is useful for teleprompters and rear-projection systems.

The unit decodes the audio input signal from TOSLink (optical) or analog (left/right) to both digital and analog formats and outputs it on HDMI along with video. For convenience, both line-level analog and optical digital audio outputs are also provided.

The SC-VHD-HDMI can output a wide range of resolutions and refresh rates, regardless of the input type or timing. The output setting can automatically match the native resolution of a connected display or specified by the user. The unit features an OSD menu for configuration, picture setup, system information, and other options. It can automatically detect RGBHV versus YPbPr on its input and is compatible with common PC and HDTV resolutions.

The SC-VHD-HDMI has a suggested retail price $385.
