Kramer Electronics’ new VP-422 digital HDMI-to-PC scaler is designed for computer graphics video and HDTV video signals. The $695 device scales HDMI signals to resolutions up to WUXGA and 1080p on a 15-pin HD connector. The 15-pin connector outputs an RGBHV signal or, with the right adapter cable, a component video signal, depending on the output resolution. Its also de-embeds stereo audio to output unbalanced analog stereo signals on RCA connectors. Thanks to a built-in processor amplifier, users can adjust brightness, contrast, and color of the output signal using an on-screen menu that they can call up by pushing buttons on the VP-422’s front panel. 888-275-6311. www.kramer-us.com.
