Elite Screens' StarBright7 series of ultrahigh 7-gain materials are now available in sizes up to 200 inches diagonal. According to the company, StarBright7 uses an advanced high-contrast filter surface-coating to absorb ambient light while boosting black-level contrast and color reproduction. Because StarBright7 is seven times brighter than the typical matte white (1 gain magnesium carbonate control) materials and has a multilayered design, the screen concentrates reflected light into a bright image with layers that diffuse intensity and filter ambient light, says the company, resulting in fewer hot spots and a less washed-out effect. The new Canon LV-7275 multimedia projector offers 2,600 lumens and a native XGA resolution with an aspect ratio of 4:3. With a 1.2x zoom lens, the projector is capable of a range of throw distances, allowing it to display on multiple screen sizes in large or small rooms. Multiple inputs add to its flexibility, supporting computers, Blu-ray and DVD players, digital cameras, a DVI-I interface, and RJ-45 connectivity. Five image-setting modes include Standard, Presentation, Cinema, sRGB, and Video. A separate Whiteboard Mode reduces reflective white spots when projecting on a whiteboard, says the company. RGB Spectrum's latest addition to its SuperView family of multiviewers is the new model 5000, offering real-time video for up to 12 windows. The SV5000's performance does not rely on a set number of I/Os or specific resolution, according to the company. Instead of a PC, it's based on a custom architecture with reportedly faster updates, more display flexibility, 24/7 robustness, and security. The scalable SV5000 can be expanded to as many as 12 inputs, including RGB/DVI, analog video, and HD-SDI. Each input can be sized and positioned anywhere on-screen, while graphics signals are selectable up to 1920x1200; HD up to 1080p. SD inputs include Composite, Component, or S-Video.
