Adding to its Venue Performance (VP) Series of loudspeakers, JBL Professional recently released optional DPIP (JBL DrivePack input processor) analog input modules for its six original VP Series models. According to the company, these input modules, which are engineered with dbx, provide a “plug-and-play” approach for users who do not require the added cost and complexity of networked control and monitoring or audio over Ethernet. Each JBL DrivePack is equipped with a modular input bay to accept one of several different input module options. These now include the DPIP for analog input, the DPAN, which offers analog input with complete digital network control, or the DPCN, which provides digital audio input with integral “single-wire” network control. The DPAN and DPCN input modules are HiQnet-compatible, using Harman Professional’s System Architect software. According to the company, the new VP models, now available with the DPIP module, provide onboard digital signal processing with precision band-pass limiting, pre-equalization filters and automatic self-test functions to ensure optimized performance. Price: N/A. For more information, contact JBL Professional at 818-894-8850 or at www.jblpro.com.
