Kramer Electronics has introduced the RC-63DL Six-Button Audio/Video and Room Controller with digital volume knob and LCD group labels for multimedia rooms. The unit was originally designed for use with Kramer’s SummitView system, used to control audio components, video components, and other room facilities, such as lights and screens. Company officials said the RC-63DL room controller is now being offered as an advanced, standalone, wall-mounted room controller that integrates audio, video, and room control into a centralized system.

The RC-63DL features six configurable buttons with macro capability that can be configured to carry out multiple commands with a single a button. Each button offers multiple layers of functions for alternate behavior, toggle functionality, and more, Kramer officials said. The controller also features a configurable digital volume control adjustment knob with five LEDs and an internal clock that allows scheduling of recurring tasks, such as system shutdown.

For versatility, the RC-63DL controller include a variety of ports. Bi-directional RS-232 support controls AV equipment such as projectors, LCD and PDP displays, power amplifiers, switchers and scalers. Two relay contact closure ports simplify and centralize control of room functions, such as lighting, opening and closing of drapes, screen and projector settings, and more. Two K-Net connectors connect to other control panels or a central control processor. The IR output adds another control port for AV equipment and its IR learning function learns commands from any IR remotes. In addition, a USB port is available for configuring the RC-63DL via a computer.

The RC-63DL is available in a white two-gang wall plate and sells in the U.S. at a list price of $830 per unit. It is currently in stock and available.
