Last week at InfoComm 2010, LG Electronics Business Solutions unveiled its first videoconferencing system with two new product modules: an all-in-one desktop solution and a portable room-type model.

“Traditionally, videoconferencing has been a necessary but a cumbersome tool for businesses because of the hardware, software, and third-party service provider setup,” said J.Y. Kim, senior vice president of LG Business Solutions, in a statement. “With LG’s Executive Conferencing System, LG provides two solutions that make it easier for businesses to have face-to-face, live interactions with partners and customers around the world.”

LG enlisted the help of LifeSize Communications to deliver the AVS2400 LG Executive Conferencing System, an all-in-one desktop and camera solution. LG also introduced the RVF1000 portable room-type application, designed for simple installation in a small conference room or office. It can be configured to work with a TV, monitor, or projector.

The Executive Conferencing system offers a simple screen layout and interface that the company says makes videoconferencing easier. The on-screen dashboard includes a navigation tool that allows users to shift between calls, directories, settings, and the main menu. This model can also be used as a PC monitor when the videoconferencing function is not enabled. Other features include 24-inch high-resolution LCD, 720p high definition, built-in loudspeakers with Echo Cancellation, Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation for automatic control of the screen size based on the users’ network.

The room-type model includes a built-in loudspeaker and microphone, which allows the user to bring the product anywhere and plug it into any type of monitor, LCD, or CRT to make the video call. The RVF1000 also boasts 720p high definition and Echo Cancellation.
