Line Monitor: Yamaha Nexo 45N-12
Yamaha previewed the first arrayable line monitor, the Nexo 45N-12, which can function as a reference or dedicated floor monitor and creates no interference between adjacent monitors.
Last month, Yamaha Commerical Audio Systems previewed what it calls the first arrayable line monitor. The Nexo 45N-12 is a 12-inch monitor that measures just 19.4 by 22.6 by 15.4 inches, weighs 62 pounds, and can function as a reference or dedicated floor monitor. The company says the unit is unique because it creates no interference between adjacent monitors for a stable frequency response, which is 55 Hz to 19 kHz ±3 dB with 30-degree horizontal coverage. A single unit has a peak SPL of 140 dB in passive or active internal switching mode. In passive mode, Yamaha recommends 1,000W to 1,600W at 8 ohms.
