The PM5D-EX power package from Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems combines its PM5D digital mixing console with the DSP5D expander for twice the I/O and processing capacity of two PM5D consoles but controlled from a single surface, says the company. Featuring 96 kHz processing, the PM5DEX has 96 mono and 16 stereo input channels as well as open architecture through MY series expansion card slots in both the console and the expander. A DCU5D digital cabling unit connects via Ethernet for remote use. The package comes in two versions: with the standard PM5D console that offers high-performance head amps or the PM5D-RH console, which adds head-amp recall capability, allowing head-amp gain settings to be recalled with the console’s scene data.
