FOR-A Corp. of America has named a new president: Hiro Tanoue, who will continue to serve as president of FOR-A Latin America. Susumu Hotta, the outgoing president, has been promoted to serve as general manager of overseas operations for FOR-A Limited. Hotta will continue to support U.S. operations from the company’s headquarters in Tokyo.

Tanoue’s career with FOR-A spans 14 years, during which he helped open the company’s New York office. He also served as eastern regional sales manager from 2000 to 2006. Most recently, Tanoue served the dual role as president of FOR-A Latin America and executive vice president of FOR-A Corp. of America. As president of FOR-A Latin America, he helped establish the company’s Miami office and oversaw decisions regarding inventory and pricing that best meet the needs of customers in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Tanoue will continue to work out of the company’s new East Coast office in Fort Lee, N.J.

Susumu Hotta’s career began more than 40 years ago in the broadcast and professional video industry. He served as president of FOR-A Corp. of America for the past eight years. Prior to joining FOR-A, he spent 35 years at Hitachi Denshi America in various roles, including president.

FOR-A also expanded the roles of two managers within the company. In recognition of his technical background, Bob Peterson has been promoted from southeastern regional sales manager to technical manger, to provide direct technical support customers. Pedro Silvestre, regional sales manager for the Caribbean and Latin America, will now also be responsible for sales in the southeastern region of the United States. Silvestre has been instrumental in the incorporation of FOR-A Latin America and the establishment of its Miami office, the company says.
