Hitachi America introduces two new models of networkable projectors: the CP-X205 and the CP-X305 3LCD (shown). The chassis in each projector is identical to the earlier model’s, but has the added benefit of an RJ-45 port, which allows management of multiple projectors from a remote location. Both also offer XGA (1024 x 768) resolution, a 4:3 aspect ratio, two RGB inputs, MyScreen/MyMemory preset options, a remote control with Hitachi’s MyButtons function, a 29 dB noise rating (in Whisper Mode), 1:1.2 manual zoom, and digital keystone correction. The difference between the models lies in their brightness: the CP-X205 features 2,200 ANSI lumens, and the CP-X305 3LCD features 2,600 ANSI lumens. Their side-mounted filters and top-door lamps attempt to ease maintenance. Input Source Naming, component/composite/S-video inputs, and digital gamma correction are additional features. A security bar, Kensington security slot, and transition detector offer theft protection. A 7-watt audio output allows a complete AV presentation. Price: CP-X205, $2,295; CP-X305 LCD $2,995.
