The National Systems Contractor Association (NSCA) said it has added 900 more industry employees to its SystemsPlus Health Solutions insurance program in the last two weeks. Mitek Electronics and Communications Group was the most recent company to switch insurance providers and join the industry-specific NSCA program.

“We are pleased to be the first large manufacturer in the commercial audio/video industry to join the SystemsPlus Insurance network,” said Loyd Ivey, CEO and president of Mitek Electronics and Communications Group, in a statement. “This long-term investment is good not only for Mitek and its employees, but also for even the smallest contractors in the overall AV industry. Our participation in the insurance offering will provide an option to offer employees the benefits that typically only the largest of companies can afford.”

SystemsPlus Health Solutions is designed to help commercial electronic systems companies combat rising health insurance premiums, according to NSCA. The program offers innovative alternatives, such as wellness initiatives and, most important, the ability to receive future credits toward insurance premiums.

“The whole idea of a program designed specific to this industry is to control costs, and with Mitek’s commitment to SystemsPlus, the entire industry will benefit,” said Ron Fuhrman, SystemsPlus chief financial officer, in a statement.
