Sennheiser Communications announced that its DW Office wireless Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) headset has completed interoperability and certification testing by Cisco, Polycom, and Avaya. The DW Office, which was recently honored with an International CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Award, is a single-sided DECT headset designed for office.

Company officials said the DW Office completed compatibility testing with Avaya one-X Communicator and Avaya one-X Agent soft clients and Avaya 1600 and 9600 series desktop telephones under the Avaya DevConnect program. As a Gold member of the Avaya DevConnect program, Sennheiser Communications is able to develop, market, and sell third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology.

The DW Office also completed interoperability verification testing with Cisco IP Phones 7942G, 7945G, 7962G, 7965G and 7975G, as well as with the Cisco IP Communicator 7.0.3. Sennheiser Communications is also now a registered developer within Cisco’s Unified Communications technology category.

Finally, Sennheiser Communications announced that the DW Office has been formally recognized as compatible with Polycom’s entire range of SoundPoint IP and Business Media phones. Polycom also named Sennheiser an Arena Partner, which allows software application providers, hardware device manufacturers, and conferencing solution providers to integrate their products with Polycom’s unified communications platform to create new applications.

“Our DW Office headset dramatically increases the quality and flexibility of communications in small to medium-sized office environments and is the perfect complement to a unified communications solution,” said Bill Whearty, Sennheiser’s vice president of retail sales, in a statement. “Having interoperability certification from the industry’s leading manufacturers gives us the opportunity to introduce the DW Office to a broader range of customers who demand superior audio quality.”

The DW Office includes Sennheiser HD voice clarity technology, narrowband and wideband compatibility, a two-in-one wearing style, and a wide wireless range, according to the company. It also features Sennheiser’s exclusive ActiveGard technology, which protects users’ ears from unexpected noise bursts like static and loud noises.
