At InfoComm Asia 2010, digital signage company SpinetiX unveiled a new digital signage software application that the company says is designed to simplify the implementation of small-scale signage projects.

The software program Fusion is now installed within every SpinetiX HMP Hyper Media Player, company officials said, allowing content to be managed via a Web browser interface and accessed either locally or remotely using a PC, Mac, Linux, or iPad platform. Once connection to the player has been achieved, content can be uploaded, edited, and published with minimal technical skill, according to SpinetiX.

“While larger digital signage or advertising networks are likely to be run by network personnel with a certain amount of specialist knowledge, small-scale and single-location rollouts are different,” said Serge Konter, marketing manager at SpinetiX, in a statement, “Our objective with Fusion was to embed a digital signage application that works instantly and allows system setup to be completed by the installer or the end user, regardless of their technical expertise or skill level.

“We estimate that in most situations, it will take less than 30 minutes for an initial setup to be completed under the Fusion application, with content being fed to screens so that they appear blank for as little time as possible after installation,” Konter added,

Because Fusion is installed within every HMP and no additional software is required, there are no subscription licence fees for users to pay. The user interface features intuitive drag-and-drop architecture and there is a choice of languages.

“The combination of our HMP devices and embedded Fusion software makes for a very appealing, all-in-one digital signage solution,” Konter continued. “It gives contractors more time to install the correct number of screens for the application without worrying about project over-runs and to concentrate on value-added services, while letting end-users get on with other aspects of their working lives.
