Tandberg’s T3 Telepresence Server allows any type of standards-compliant video system to be added to a Tandberg telepresence meeting at best possible quality, including HD, says the company. The server provides a transcoding technology that permits systems with varying capabilities on different networks with different bandwidths to join the same telepresence meeting. The server then becomes a platform for scalability as an organization’s use of telepresence increases. The Telepresence Server is scheduled to begin shipping in January 2009.
