Tripp Lite, which makes power protection and connectivity products, has introduced a new line of high-speed HDMI cables with Ethernet. The P569-series is the company’s latest generation of digital and audio cabling, with support for Ethernet data connectivity, audio return channel, 3D display, and 4096×2160 video resolution.

Tripp Lite officials said the cables have been tested to perform at speeds up to 10.2 Gbps and can handle 1080p signals at increased color depths and refresh rates. The cables are backward compatible with previous versions of HDMI.

“Tripp Lite is committed to providing quality connectivity products to keep up with the rapidly expanding technology market,” said David Posner, Tripp Lite product manager, in a statement. “The new series of high-speed HDMI cables with Ethernet combine the maximum level of performance with more capabilities than ever before, ensuring users are up-to-date with evolving AV standards.”

The HDMI Ethernet channel enables high-speed bi-directional communication, allowing IP-enabled devices to be used without a separate Ethernet cable. The audio return channel enables a TV to send audio signals back to an AV receiver for processing and playback capability.

Among other features, the cables support the ability to optimize picture settings based on content type. Expanded support for color spaces means digital cameras can render more precise colors and picture quality.
