TV One says it plans to debut its new CorioMatrix C3-340 at the NAB Show in Las Vegas. The new matrix switcher is based on TV One’s Corio2 technology and CorioSoftswitch, which provides a firmware-based video routing, switching, and video conversion platform.

Company officials said there are 16 AV universal module slots available and that the CorioMatrix automatically recognizes the modules inserted as input or output modules. There are no dedicated input or output slots when using two-channel DVI-U or 3G-SDI modules, according to TV One. This flexibility allows end-user configurations based on need instead of based on the router. Additional DVI-U or 3G-SDI modules can be added later in open slots without having to re-set the router. All AV modules are hot swappable and recognized for immediate auto configuration, the company said.

By choosing scaled output modules, the CorioMatrix also provides up, down, and cross conversion between a variety of analog and digital video formats via 3G-SDI. Signal parameters of incoming video may be adjusted and all settings stored in non-volatile memory, where they are retained even when power is switched off, according to the company. User-defined presets are also available to customize settings for various applications.

The DVI-U universal interface utilizes a single DVI-I connector to support the following signal formats: HDMI, DVI-I, plus analog YUV, YPbPr, RGBHV, RBBS, RGsB, Y/C, and composite video. A variety of adapters are available to convert from DVI-I to other connectors. The DVI-U output module with scaling allows any input to be converted to any of the DVI-U formats on the output. The high resolution DVI-U outputs are selectable as any PC or HDTV resolution.

The C3-340 CorioMatrix also includes digital flicker-elimination circuitry and a 4:4:4 full-bandwidth sampling rate to help ensure crisp, clear images. Full-bandwidth chroma sampling ensures high-resolution colors. Pixel-level motion adaptive diagonal interpolation and noise reduction provide high-quality de-interlacing of PAL, NTSC and 1080i signals, according to TV One, and 3:2 pull-down ensures proper 24 frames-oer-second film extraction from NTSC and 1080i sources.

Integrated audio switching can route audio from the DVI (HDMI-compatible) input or SDI input to the DVI and SDI outputs. An optional audio module can provide AES and analog or digital I/O breakout capabilities, as well as audio delay and can link the new CorioMatrix to TV One’s A-7300 series of audio break-out units.

All C3-340 CorioMatrix functions can be controlled via serial connection, USB, or IP. The unit is housed in a standard 4RU rack-mount case and features an optional redundant hot swappable internal PSU and power inlet.
