URC, a control technology provider, announced Jamie Finnegan as the national sales manager for the company’s commercial division. He will report directly to URC senior vice president and general manager Doug Cole.

URC also announced that Robert Durbin, previously URC’s western technical training manager, has been promoted to a new role as systems integration engineer for URC’s commercial division, where he will work closely with Finnegan.

Finnegan comes to URC with experience both as an integrator and on the manufacturing side. He entered the industry in a sales role in 1986. From 1993 to 2006, Finnegan owned an integration firm that generated approximately $3 million in annual revenues from both commercial and residential installations. In 2006, he joined AMX as a direct factory sales rep for its central region and was later promoted to regional sales manager for AMX’s northeast region.

“[Jamie Finnegan’s] knowledge, talent, and expertise will dramatically enhance URC’s relationship-building efforts and value proposition in the commercial integration market,” said Cole in a statement.

“I owe my success on the manufacturing side to my success as a dealer,” said Finnegan in a statement. “I truly understand the difficulties and struggles dealers experience on a daily basis. I’ll bring a dealer advocacy approach to my job that wouldn’t exist if I spent my whole career as a factory guy. I’ve been in the trenches, and I’ve earned my stripes. I’ll be a very supportive listener for dealers, and drive that through on the manufacturing side so we can deliver the products, service, and support they need.”

URC attended InfoComm 2010 last week and showcased its Network Keypad Solution, along with other products.
