Sony Creative Software’s Vegas Pro 9, the latest edition of the company’s nonlinear HD video and audio editing application, offers direct browsing and import of Sony XDCAM EX footage, native file support for the Red One camera, a new customization interface, and brand-new editing effects, says the company.

Vegas Pro 9 also supports added scalability through an option to work in full 64-bit mode. This should let power users to take advantage of more powerful multicore/multiprocessor workstations and 64-bit operating systems. It includes new 4K (4096×4096) workflow enhancements, customizable editing layouts, and enhanced audio editing that removes default frame boundaries so editors can more easily match audio and video elements. Vegas Pro 9 software is currently available from retailers with an MSRP of $700.
