Yamaha CA Appoints Mixer Product Manager

Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems said it has named Kevin Kimmel to the position of mixer product manager, effective immediately. In his new position, Kimmel will be responsible for product training, the implementation of marketing and support programs, and recommendations for mixer product design.

Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems said it has named Kevin Kimmel to the position of mixer product manager, effective immediately. In his new position, Kimmel will be responsible for product training, the implementation of marketing and support programs, and recommendations for mixer product design from the North American market to the research and development team in Japan. Kimmel will report to Marc Lopez, marketing manager, Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems.

Over the course of nearly three decades, Kimmel has been an audio mixer, system designer, recording engineer, and most recently an assistant technical director at Disneyland. He was also the front-of-house engineer for Tower of Power and Luis Miguel on his "Aries" and "Segundo Romance" world tours. Kimmel served as production mixer on several shows for ESPN, and worked as a freelance front-of-house/monitor mixer in the television industry on such shows as "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Dr. Phil," and the "Wayne Brady Show."

Kimmel's recording credits include recording/mixing engineer for Three Dog Night, Bobby Caldwell, Tower of Power, and Ray Charles, among other artists. His film credits include Raging Bull>, Blue Lagoon, First Blood,Rocky III, and Jaws 3D>.

"Kevin's vast mixing experience in many of the commercial audio market segments will be a real asset for our team," said Lopez in a statement. "His caliber of expertise will provide a responsive level of support to our customer base."
