Touting an affordable market value of $4,699, Anthem’s AVM 50 AV processor packs all the features of its predecessor, the AVM 30, and adds the broadcast-quality digital video processing found in Anthem’s Statement D2. The Gennum VXP digital image processor uses broadcast-quality algorithms to upconvert SD or HD video sources to 1920x1080p resolution. Four HDMI inputs are included and video transcoding enables S-Video and component video inputs to be digitally processed and enhanced before being routed through the component video and HDMI outputs. Onscreen displays feature menus for setup, status update, and video processing and are displayed on the component video and HDMI outputs at any resolution up to 1080p. The AVM 50 includes Macrovision support and aspect ratio conversion.
