The Descent: Peak 2100W Power Without Ported/Passive Radiator Enclosures

The MartinLogan Descent subwoofer packs three 250W (700W peak) Vojtko amplifiers to reach peak power of 2100W without the need for ported or passive radiator enclosures. Aluminum-cone drivers placed 120 degrees apart in a BalancedForce driver configuration are said to eliminate resonance and vibration along with cabinet-radiation coloration and bass blur. The TriLinear configuration achieves low-distortion and optimal control while moving the same amount of air as a much larger driver. RCA outputs enable the Descent to operate in a serial configuration. Level controls at 25Hz and 50Hz allow installers to adjust system response by +/-10dB from top-mounted controls.
