Biamp Introduces Dual-channel Power Amplifier for AudiaFlex

Providing integrators with a cost-effective, turnkey solution for power amplification in any Audia powered system, Biamp Systems introduced its new PA-2 Dual-Channel Power Amplifier Card. Ideal for small- to medium-size venues, PA-2 cards enable any AudiaFlex to directly power 4ω, 6ω, or 8ω speakers, eliminating the need for extra, separate amplifiers, saving power and rack real estate and reducing overall project time and cost.

“PA-2 cards are a cost-effective alternative to cumbersome external amplifiers,” says Matt Kotvis, Engineer for Biamp Systems. “With the PA-2 card and AudiaFlex, integrators simply need to install microphone and line inputs then terminate the corresponding speaker outputs at the appropriate modules. It’s a powerful and versatile amplification package that can only be achieved using AudiaFlex.”

With software configurable options for customizing output power, the new PA-2 cards provide integrators with an equal blend of versatility and functionality. PA-2 cards can be configured from 5W to 30W dual-channel and from 10W to 60W mono-bridged. An upgraded AudiaFlex can support up to 12 PA-2 cards with a total power output of 120W, providing ample power without compromising processing power dedicated to other DSP functions.

Each PA-2 seamlessly integrates with the AudiaFlex chassis and provides two amplifier channels, the ability to be configured for mono-bridge, selectable power output ratings, manual or automatic load impedance selection and load and thermal monitoring.
The new PA-2 card is RoHS compliant and complies with all AES grounding practices. PA-2 cards are also covered by Biamp’s five-year warranty program.
