Ensemble Designs’ new P9425 Layering Engine is part of the company’s Avenue signal integration system. It provides a flexible solution for combining audio and video content for high-end video applications. The Layering Engine has two independent linear keyers, program/preset background transitions, and audio mixing, voice over, and breakaway. The Layering Engine inputs can be driven by SDI signals from cameras, remote feeds, character generators, graphic and still store systems, and video servers. Each input has a built-in frame synchronizer, so cameras and other video sources don’t need to be genlocked. The full range of SDI signals and 3G formats are supported. Base configuration is 8×2 and larger systems can be configured up to 30 I/O ports. The engine also features an iPad or web browser interface to create keyed presets that can be recalled on-air by automation systems. Availability: Fall Price: Starting at $8,000
