NSCA SystemsPlus Health Solutions Available for Small Companies

Commercial electronic systems companies with at least five enrolled employees are eligible to apply for the increasingly popular SystemsPlus Health Solutions insurance program as of July 1. NSCA created the Health Solutions program, a component of SystemsPlus Insurance Solutions, to provide a variety of insurance solutions, including property and casualty, surety, and stop loss. The health component launched in January 2009.

“The Health Solutions offering of SystemsPlus is rapidly becoming one of the greatest benefits we offer companies in the systems integration industry,” says Chuck Wilson, NSCA executive director. “In order to reach a critical mass, it was important to sign on some of our larger integration and manufacturer members in order to provide this benefit to the majority of small businesses in our industry.”

Throughout the past year and a half, the addition of organizations such as MiTek Communications Group (the flagship manufacturer that provided the opportunity to expand the program), AVI Systems, Ford Audio Video, LMG, and AVI-SPL has grown the program to allow smaller businesses the ability to purchase health insurance like a large organization. The enrollment of Crestron Electronics in May enabled the program to reach an important threshold to offer insurance to smaller firms that often struggle to offer employee benefits.

“Healthcare reform is going to bring a series of additional challenges to smaller integration firms,” says Ray Bailey, Lone Star Communications president and president of the SystemsPlus Mutual Insurance Company board of directors. “In addition to the ability to purchase insurance as if you are a large company, this program will also meet many of the requirements of healthcare reform and, at the same time, offer incentives to employees to encourage healthy lifestyles.”

As the program continues to grow, even greater discounts and stabilized rates will allow the entire industry to benefit from this program.

All companies must complete the Employer Questionnaire, Employee Census, and Health Application prior to receiving a quote.

Program participants can:

  • Access a leading national network of providers
  • Stabilize health insurance costs
  • Earn premium credits based on program and individual company performance
  • Encourage employees to manage health risk. Preventative maintenance procedures are covered 100 percent and not subject to co-insurance or deductibles.
  • Reduce the burden on HR through one contact and one program for the entire company, even if the company has branches in multiple states.
