A new optical dual link DVI extender from Opticis, the DDFX-100-TR enables the user to transparently transmit the digital uncompressed video data of dual link DVI, WQXGA at 60Hz or WQUXGA at 33Hz using technology that transmits seven data channels up to 1640ft. over two multi-mode fibers. The transmitter is powered either through the DVI pin from the PC or by a +5V power adaptor with an auto-power switching circuit. The receiver needs a +5V power adaptor to drive. The aluminium construction allows for efficient heat dissipation.
