Oregon High School Softball Championship Webcasts are a Grand Slam Success

VBrick Systems recently partnered with reseller CompView and video production provider Bobtv to webcast Oregon high school softball championship games, making the high-stakes games available to anyone across the state or the globe.
The group streamed the Oregon School Activities Association’s (OSAA)/U.S. Bank/Les Schwab Tires 3A and 2A/1A division softball championship games on Friday June 1, 2007,live from the Oregon State University softball stadium in Corvallis, Oregon. The two games—directed and produced by Bobtv— combined sharp video resolution with multiple camera angles, instant replays, and an easy-to-read graphic scoreboard designed for webcast formats.

CompView worked with Bobtv to provide the equipment and management to support the project. Bobtv is using VBrick’s digital video appliance for portability and “plug-and-stream” capabilities. Approximately the size of a dictionary, the VBrick WM Network Video Appliance received the feed from two video cameras that record the games. The VBrick appliance then digitized and streamed the Windows Media video format to a webcasting reflector service that supports high-volume demand for sporting events and other content. Users simply click on the streaming event website link and watch the games using Windows Media Player, which is pre-installed in many Windows-based PCs and is available for free online.
