Controller

Black Box’s MediaCento IPX controller enables IP-based video matrix switching and videowall control for HDMI-over-IP solutions. It is a network appliance that enables browser-based control for managing network connections between content sources and endpoints. The MediaCento IPX system enables extension of HDMI video and USB over an IP network to a virtually unlimited number of screens and videowalls. Using the internal Web server interface, users can switch from any source to any display, create presets and combine multiple receivers into a videowall, and control and switch videowall zones remotely. The controller also features mobile support to allow users to easily access and activate presets from their mobile phone or tablet device. Because it is IP-based, there are no port limitations, and it can support hundreds of individual screens and videowalls up to 8×8 in size. The controller has two Ethernet ports to coordinate video connections on one network and receive control signals from another network.

4K HDMI Input Card

The Crestron DMC-4K-HD is an input card for a Crestron DigitalMedia switcher, providing one HDMI input. The HDMI input supports full HD 1080p, Ultra HD, 2K, and 4K video signals with HDCP, Deep Color, 3D, and high-bitrate HD multichannel audio. The HDMI input can also handle DVI and DisplayPort multimode signals using an appropriate adapter or interface cable. In addition to the HDMI input, the DMC-4K-HD also includes HDMI and stereo analog audio outputs, and a USB HID device port. The HDMI output can be used to pass the input signal through to a local audio processor or video monitor, or to feed a second DM switcher for output expansion purposes. The analog audio output, which features programmable volume control and breaks out the stereo audio signal from the HDMI input and passes it through to feed a multiroom audio distribution system.

CPU Switch /Converter

IHSE USA’s new 484 series VGA 8×1 CPU switch/converter allows up to eight VGA CPU sources to be connected and switched through a single DVI extension port. The extension port can be connected directly to a workstation receiver or attached to an IHSE tera enterprise or tera compact matrix switch port for distributed access. Two models are available: L484- 8VECWR for Cat-x and L484-8VESWR for fiber. With IHSE’s exclusive high-efficiency conversion algorithms, each input port has a built-in scaling function that maintains video integrity up to 1920×1200 @60Hz. Each input port provides for a VGA (HD15 connector), USB-HID (Type B), and stereo audio (3.5mm) connections. All settings are stored in nonvolatile memory for retention should a power failure occur.

Transmitter

Kramer Electronics’ SID−X2N, is a HDBaseT four-in-one, twisted-pair transmitter from the Digital Step-in family. The unit includes four input types: computer graphics video, HDMI, DVI, and DisplayPort. In addition, the SID−X2N includes an unbalanced stereo audio input and output. The SID−X2N works as a standalone unit together with the TP−580RXR/WP−580RXR receivers, using RS-232 commands over a twisted-pair cable. Although this product can be used with any Cat cable, Kramer recommends the use of the Kramer BC-HDKat6a cable to reach up to 130 meters (430ft.) in normal mode and up to 180 meters (590ft.) in XTRA (Long Reach) mode (1080p @60Hz @24BPP). It is compatible with both analog and digital AV signals, has unbalanced stereo audio input and output, has a single twisted-pair cable that carries both data and control, and switching between inputs is available when working with an HDBaseT receiver using RS-232 commands. The line supports BYOD requirements.

Encoder/Decoder

Aurora Multimedia introduced new streaming media solutions, the HPX series and JPX series. The HPX series is a high-performance H.264 streaming media encoder/decoder solution for high-definition signal delivery over IP networks. Series consists of HPX-TX1/ TX2 encoders and HPX-RX-SM/RX-VW decoders to provide a complete end-to-end streaming media system as well as videowall and multi-view modes. It features HDMI and VGA inputs with loop-through and adopts standard H.264/MPEG-4 AVC encoding. The JPX series is a JPEG2000 visually lossless video system over IP that allows you to simultaneously send out an HDMI signal (1080p video with 2.1 audio, USB, and RS-232) to one or more HDMI video display devices using Cat-5e/6/7 cable over a standard Ethernet infrastructure. The JPX series, consisting of the JPX-TX1 encoder and JPX-RX1 decoder, can be used to distribute HD digital content from multiple sources to multiple destinations in a matrix topology on a 1Gbps LAN. In addition, the JPX series has a videowall mode and does not require a managed switch. Advanced internal video compression adapts to available network bandwidth if needed for a stable image at all times.

Sender/Receiver

Gefen’s HD KVM over IP sends high-def content over a LAN with the option to integrate various video formats and create a virtual, cross-point matrix. This sender/receiver system allows the remote control of computers from any workstation using a Gigabit Ethernet switch. Users can access content using keyboard, video monitor, and mouse at any location on the LAN. High-def video in the HDMI format, four USB peripherals, bidirectional audio, RS-232 control signals, and IR are transported over the LAN with optional extension up to 100 meters on both sender and receiver sides using a single Cat-5 cable. This extension system uses a method of visually lossless compression and boasts latency of less than two frames. It also supports up to 256 additional sender and up to 256 receiver units on the same LAN. Each sender and receiver can be configured to a unique IP address. Resolutions are supported up to 1920×1200 at 60fps.

Transmitter/Receiver

Altinex’s Muse HDMI+Power+IR transmitter and receiver promises to dramatically change the way integrators approach AV systems. With the ability to power a display with up to 150W of power and carry HDMI, RS-232, and IR control signals up to 300ft. (90 meters) over a single, low-voltage, unshielded Cat-6 cable, Muse enables AV integrators to eliminate the worry of electrical outlet placement— providing AV installers full control over their projects. Muse consists of the MU400-111 transmitter and the MU500-112 receiver. The output of the MU400-111 transmitter is monitored for power consumption and when power is exceeded, the output is turned off to protect the system. Muse is designed to withstand direct shorts both on the low-voltage side and high-voltage side. The current consumption is monitored continually and output is disabled if an overload or short is detected. The MU400-111’s built-in cooling fan provides temperature control. The durable metal MU500-112 receiver is small enough to fit behind a monitor, provides reliable operation over a wide temperature range, and is powered by the Muse transmitter and provides both power and video to a display for a trouble-free installation. Both units are fully compliant with HDMI and HDCP standards and UL 60950 listed.
