The Dugan-VN16 is a 16-channel automatic mixing controller that plugs into a slot on selected Avid Venue digital mixers and patches into the Avid’s mic channel insert points. It uses the Dugan Speech System to detect which mics are being used to then make fast, transparent crossfades. Gain remains consistent across the system, shared automatically among active microphones. All mics sound normal, but there is no change in ambience, noise buildup, or feedback. The Dugan-VN16 offers 16 automixing channels or eight automixing channels and eight channels of ADAT I/O. It may be linked with up to seven other Dugan automixers.
