CEDIA’S 2008 BENCHMARKING SURVEY SETS THE PACE

CEDIA’s 2008 Benchmarking Survey was a great success, allowing participating members unprecedented access to data points that will help improve their business planning. More than 10 percent of eligible members responded, producing stronger results than ever before. Benchmarking is the process of determining the practices that produce a superior company. By identifying how others perform tasks or meet objectives, companies can gain insight they may not otherwise have access to.

CEDIA conducted its third-annual Benchmarking Survey in 2008, and all electronic systems contractor members in the United States and Canada were encouraged to participate. The results provide references that can be used to evaluate business operations, helping CEDIA analyze its membership, helping members strengthen their companies, and contributing to define the industry as a viable and distinct field.

Brand Ubiquity, an independent consulting services firm, conducts all facets of the survey. CEDIA staff does not have access to the information at any time. CEDIA receives only a summary of the findings.

In 2008, participants received great benefits, including full survey results (available only to participants), free education, and savings on membership renewal. Interested in participating next year? Stay tuned to www.cedia.org/members_only for details on the 2009 survey.
