MAKE YOUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY WITH CONVENIENT NSCA TRAINING

NSCA’s new online, self-paced class explains how to effectively install sound systems the first time. Audio for Sound Reinforcement: Levels, Metering, and Gain Structure focuses on how to correctly set levels. Technicians equipped with this solid training don’t have to return to job sites, saving employers time and money.

Industry expert John Murray will teach the course. Apart from tradeshows, Murray says there weren’t many industry opportunities for technicians to learn gain structure. He says Levels, Metering, and Gain Structure is really aimed at those who have to make a sound system work. An always-on, year-round class is the perfect solution for technicians.

To learn more about the class, listen to Murray’s online vodcast at www.nsca.org/video/johnmurray.htm. To register for the class, visit elearning.nsca.org.

STAY AHEAD OF YOUR COMPETITION WITH VALUABLE INSIDER INFORMATION

NSCA’s Q4 Market Intelligence Briefing (MIB) was released in late September. This latest MIB — Security, Life Safety and Fire Alarm Trends in the Commercial Electronic Systems Industry — is just another benefit of NSCA membership. These valuable research reports, worth hundreds of dollars each, are released quarterly and study the latest trends and research in the industry.

According to the survey, the top three systems with the greatest demand include CCTV surveillance systems, fire-alarm systems, and security services. Because security applications typically differ from a company’s core business focus, many respondents cited this as the primary obstacle to becoming more involved in the security market.

Security and life-safety systems are one of the fastest growing sectors in the electronic systems industry. With many systems contractors already working in this area, the MIB provides a great opportunity for contractors to look at expanding their current business focus. Topics covered include technical issues, business issues, growth of specific markets (mass notification), and training.

Corporate members may download a free copy of the report by visiting www.nsca.org/research.
