NSCA needs your help in completing the final stage of the Labor Installation Standard that includes providing information on average times for installing specific systems in the AV, security, video, digital signage, and more sectors in the low voltage electronic systems industry. The complete Labor Installation Standard provides you with key information to help you provide the most accurate and economical bid options.

Close a project by showing this report to your customers so they can see for themselves that you’re following industry standards, not cutting corners or costing them more money by forcing them to hire. Your sales personnel can also use this report as a guide when preparing bids and closing the project. You can also use this document to show your customers the average time tasks require to be completed properly which builds value in your bid versus being called in to fix someone else’s work who underbid the project and cut corners to complete it within their budget.

We are in the midst of releasing a new version of this document, but this benchmarking tool requires input and feedback from you, the contractor. In the new report, NSCA will feature new data on video and digital signage. Input from the industry on the labor hours it requires you to complete these tasks is essential in the completion of this tool.

“Applications, technologies and job sites are continually changing, causing the labor rates to be difficult to track,” says Chuck Wilson, NSCA executive director. “The updated report will increase efficiency to integrators by providing tools to measure their employee performance to competitors, efficiently estimating project costs, and better informing government agencies of how labor is distributed. All of which are beneficial both to the customer and the business owner.”
