Hitachi has announced the CP-D31N Short Throw Series 3LCD projector. The CP-D31N can project an 80in. image at a distance of 32in. Mounting the projector close to a screen or whiteboard prevents obstructed images and shadows and avoids shining light in the presenter’s eyes. The CP-D31N offers network connectivity via an RJ- 45 Ethernet jack, allowing content to be sent directly from a computer to the projector via the network, and facilitating monitoring and maintenance. Hitachi’s PJMessenger function allows text messages and audio alerts to be sent on all networked projectors. The projector provides native 4:3, 16:9, and 16:10 compatible XGA resolution with up to 3,000 ANSI lumens brightness and offers connections including HDMI, S-Video, and composite video inputs, an RGB computer input, RCA and mini-jack audio inputs, and a computer monitor output. In addition, an RS-232 port enables system control when used with control systems. The projector also has a built-in 10W audio amplifier. Additional features include a Transition Detector that disables the projector if it is moved without authorization, a power-saving Eco standby mode, and a hybrid filter that provides up to 4,000 hours between maintenance.
