At InfoComm 2010, JBL Professional introduced its new Commercial series ceiling loudspeakers, providing excellent performance for paging and background music applications, such as retail stores, restaurants, schools, and other environments. The new models include the CSS8004 (4in., 90dB sensitivity, 5W transformer, 175-degree coverage); CSS8008 (8in., 96dB sensitivity, 5W transformer, 120-degree conical coverage); and CSS8018 (8in., 97dB sensitivity, 10W transformer). These ceiling loudspeakers are designed to meet the requirements of UL1480 and UL2043 for use in plenum ceiling spaces. The Commercial series ceiling loudspeakers feature high sensitivity, providing maximum sound level even at low tap settings. The series’ triple-voltage transformers (100V, 70V, and 25V) fit with any distributed loudspeaker system. The drivers all feature a full 1in. (25mm) diameter voice coil with a Kapton coil-former and high-temperature wire for better power dissipation and long-term reliability. The driver, grille, and transformer come pre-assembled for ease of installation. The lineup includes matching Commercial series pre-installed backcans and tile rails. Price: NA
