Gospel Entertainment Television is a web organization that opens its doors to churches, gospel artists, and Christian groups to invite them to share their ministries with the world. This new example of “technology meets the Gospel” proves once again that churches and gospel-centered organizations are tapping into the Internet to reach people with their message of hope.

GETV is an online gospel entertainment venue that broadcasts pastors as well as gospel artists and musicians to the world. Anyone will be able to log on to the Web and hear the messages and music from their own home. GETV accepts audition information by email and provides a submission form for those who would like an opportunity to broadcast their pastor or gospel music, or share their gospel-related presentation. The main focus of GETV is education and giving back to the community.

“The goal of GETV is to help others through ministries, health, and wealth,” says Herbert H. Boyd, Jr., GETV’s founder and CEO. Boyd started GETV under the inspiration of his mother. He was born and raised in Port Chester, NY, and grew up in the church. He was baptized at the age of 12, and he became president of the church youth group and sang in the choir. He has been greatly inspired by his mother, Hardena Boyd, who played the church organ, filled in as a choir director, and was well known for her alto opera singing voice. Her influence gave Boyd the foundation for a great vision, and led to the birth of GETV. Boyd was also greatly inspired by Dr. Frederick K.C. Price of the California-based Ever Increasing Faith Ministries. Price has been his teacher for more than 20 years, and Boyd is a Faith Partner in Price’s ministry. Guy Fortt, an actor and singer, along with Larry Marshall, a well-known Broadway actor, singer, writer, and producer, both were a part of the cast for one of Oprah Winfrey’s projects, “The Color Purple on Broadway.” They will be joining GETV in their own gospel specials.

GETV offers a free newsletter and provides space for advertising to help businesses get targeted exposure for their products and services. The website also provides useful gospel-related links and a section that lists shows that users can watch for gospel ministries and music, education, health, and wealth. GETV will also have a gospel radio station soon.

“I feel GETV is a valuable resource that will bind the gospel community and help ministries to expand their outreach to the far corners of the earth,” Boyd says. More information is available at www.getv1.com.
