Stage Research RF Guru

Stage Research unveiled an important new feature for its RF Guru product at the 2010 USITT (United States Institute for Theatre Technology) Conference & Stage Expo in Kansas City, Mo., March 30-April 3. The upgrade has been developed in collaboration with Lectrosonics. RF Guru is a coordination tool targeted to anyone dealing with wireless microphones. Designed to find the best combination of wireless mic frequencies to be used at a venue and alleviate intermod (i.e., interference) problems, it calculates based on existing mics, area TV stations, user-entered known bad frequencies, and even mic data from nearby neighboring venues. Now RF Guru introduces the ability to scan the airwaves for frequencies that may affect RF performance. Using the Lectrosonics VR series of wireless microphones, RF Guru will scan all frequency ranges and database frequencies that seem to be problematic. RF Guru will then use that data to find the best wireless frequencies to use in that space. Price: $159
