Illustrating its commitment to the highest level of professional product training and its dedication to advancing technical knowledge within the industry, Biamp Systems has made its Learning Center available for academic education and manufacturer meetings as well as the regularly scheduled product training seminars.

“Based on our commitment to product training and with the advent of Audia certification, we built our new Learning Center,” said Ned Ludlum, Biamp Systems Training Director. “But what started as one of the industry’s most sophisticated interactive facilities for product training has turned into a place where we teach language to foreign employees and even host critical industry meetings.”

Indeed, the Learning Center is host to Biamp’s manufacturing employees representing many different languages with the desire to learn English in a 10-week course taught by Portland State University staff. Beyond that, the Learning Center, located at Biamp’s headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, has accommodated quarterly company meetings and quarterly Regional Managers meetings. There are also quarterly meetings with a variety of NW area electronics manufacturers involved in the progression of the initiatives of the European Union and the state of California regarding lead-free solder to minimize toxic metals in land fills.

The Learning Center boasts 12 networked, interactive learning Audia stations where students can bring their laptops and operate in a powerful multimedia learning environment. With state of the art high resolution Mitsubishi projections systems, the trainers can offer attendees the highest levels of interactive product training. A distributed mix minus audio system, the highest quality microphones Audio Technica and state of the art Tannoy speakers further enhance the learning experience.

In addition there is video switching system using Altinex video switchers and SP Controls Cat Link cat 5 video links from each work station to enable the instructor to switch each student's computer onto the screen for project sharing.

Biamp Systems also invested in a state-of-the-art lighting system to control the degree of contrast in light levels relative to the projection screen and the computer screen thus minimizing eyestrain. In addition, the programmable flexibility if the digital lighting system permits setting the right amount of illumination of the presenter, the white board and each student work station.

The presenter can control all technologies in the Learning Space including lighting, video, and audio by software of touch panel.

Although the Learning Center hosts a wide range of activities, it is in the three day, twice-monthly sessions for Audia training that the facility really shines. As one of the industry’s most cost effective advanced technologies, Audia’s market has expanded rapidly which means the Learning Center plays host to former analog users who need training in the use of powerful DSP-based equipment and further experience with connecting the system to a network.

Biamp’s Learning Center offers a dynamic training environment for those who want to become Audia certified and for those already certified but want to learn more about AudiaFLEX, the numerous input and output options, AudiaSOLO and the latest software features and enhancements. Like Audia itself, the Biamp Systems Learning Center is advancing the state of the art in digital technology.

Biamp Systems (www.biamp.com), headquartered in Beaverton, OR, is a leader in professional installed audio electronics.
