Epson America Inc., a leader in high-performance three-chip LCD projectors, is unveiling an XGA (1024x768 resolution) Portable Series projector, the PowerLite 7900p. Combining the benefits of an easy, out-of-the-box network monitoring/control system, a 700:1 contrast ratio, easy setup, and up to 4000 ANSI lumens of brightness, this projector is designed to meet the needs of large classrooms, auditoriums, and business meeting rooms.
The PowerLite 7900p features Epson’s Easy Management networking capabilities with unique command and control options. The projector has a built-in Ethernet port with cross-platform compatibility that allows it to plug into virtually any existing platform. Centralized monitoring enables projector operators/managers to save time by simultaneously viewing the status of all Epson network projectors over their LAN including input sources, power on/off and lamp life conditions. Built-in remote access also gives users virtual control of the projectors from remote locations over a network with the ability to troubleshoot and monitor them (even using e-mail notification), and without having to pay for additional license seating fees.
The PowerLite 7900p weighs 12.3lbs., allowing for portability from one large room to another and a variety of options for permanent installation. Setup is simplified with features such as Quick Corner, a new onscreen interface enabling users to make up to 40-degree keystone corrections to compensate for small or odd-shaped rooms, and Wall Shot, which provides automatic color corrections even when projecting onto colored surfaces.
Depending on the environment, users can choose between two levels of brightness on these projectors, and can extend the lamp life for more cost-effective operation – up to 3,000 hours in Low Brightness mode or up to 2,000 hours in High Brightness mode. This feature not only allows for more visual control, but also reduced fan noise (36dB in High Brightness, and 33dB in Low). The likelihood of theft is also reduced with a password-protection feature on the PowerLite 7900p that disables the projectors to unauthorized users.
The back of the projector includes a wide selection of inputs, including D-sub15, BNC, DVI, S-Video, video and monitor out. In addition to the 1.35X zoom lens that comes standard with the projector, there are also several optional lenses available to meet a variety of setup applications. The projector can also be stacked for added brightness and image-sensitive applications, and users can create up to five custom setting presets for frequently used setup preferences and conditions.
The PowerLite 7900p sells for $4,399 MSRP and is currently shipping through pro audiovisual, national distribution, catalog, and direct PC dealers, and select PC retailers throughout the country. For more information, visit www.epson.com.
