Audio Playback: Alcorn McBride ProTraXX
The new ProTraXX audio playback device from Alcorn McBride plays eight independent stereo tracks.

The new ProTraXX audio playback device from Alcorn McBride combines the feature set of its 8TraXX unit with client-requested functions. The new model plays eight independent stereo tracks that can be triggered by a dedicated input, allowing for proximity sensor or switches. The single rack-mount unit includes Ethernet for remote updating, microphone/auxiliary inputs for zone paging and spot-logging, and offers MP3 playback in a compact, solid-state unit. ProTraXX uses CompactFlash to store audio files, so it has no moving parts. When used with the company’s Digital Media Manager software, a network of ProTraXX units can be managed remotely.
