ATON's new distributed audio system of routers, touchpads, and accessories will now leverage Digi5 technology, offering an alternative to Cat5 wiring. Digi5 can accept any analog or digital audio/video component. The DH44 digital audio router converts four analog source inputs to digital and passes digital source inputs over Cat5 wire to connected DHTP1 digital amplified touchpads (shown), which feature an elegant touch-surface with a built-in high efficiency amplifier of 30 watts RMS per channel at 8 ohms. For zones that use a local source, such as an iPod, a DHSIP source input wallplate can be connected to the touchpad via Cat5 wire. Price: Four-room system, $1,500.
