Calypso's UT-500 Serial-IR Universal Translator converts legacy commands embedded within control system source codes to new commands. The UT-500 can convert IR to IR, IR to serial, serial to IR, or serial to serial. Features include an onboard 32-event translation table, built-in IR and serial learning, and a graphical interface. After configuration, it operates as a standalone device, and can transmit responses from serial devices back to the calling control application by supporting bi-directional communications.
