Lab.gruppen plans to debut what it’s calling its flagship PLM 20000Q Powered Loudspeaker Management system. It integrates two full-featured modules of Lake processing with four channels of power amplification, each rated at 5,000 watts of output. Everythng is housed in a 2U chassis weighing 37 pounds. The PLM 20000Q has a new universal power supply with power factor correction that allows extended bursts without sagging rails, according to the company. With a differentiated load on the four outputs, a higher wattage can be delivered to the more heavily loaded channel while peak voltage remains accessible on all channels. The PLM 20000Q employs a proprietary Breaker Emulation Limiter to prevent tripping of mains breakers, plus advanced peak limiting circuits that keep output devices inside operating tolerances and below the thermal protection threshold.
