Loudspeakers Achieve IP56 Rating

Technomad Associates' complete line of loudspeakers and subwoofers complies with the International Electrotechnical Commission's (IEC) IP56 performance rating under its International Protection (IP) Code. The rating is a strict standard for protection against hazardous parts and water ingression.

The IP Code in IEC's international standard 60529 classifies the level of protection against the intrusion of solid objects, dust, water, and accidental contact. The first digit in Technomad's IP rating, 5, means dust ingression will not interfere with the equipment's operation. The second digit, 6, indicates that water projected in powerful jets at the enclosure will not produce harmful effects.
