Focus Enhancements has released version 3.0 firmware for its FS-100 Portable Direct To Edit recorder. Version 3.0 enables users to record 720/24/25/30p resolutions in MXF P2 or QuickTime file formats. The firmware provides native file format support and QuickTime support for native frame rates and 720p and 1080i DVCPRO HD record modes. QuickTime support includes up to four channels of digital audio, while native frame rate recording doubles the FS-100's recording time to more than 200 minutes with a bit rate as low as 40 Mb/s.
