Several companies showed advances in wireless video signal transmission. But Gefen's new Wireless HDMI Extender uses ultra-wideband (UWB) technology from Tzero Technologies to deliver HDTV resolutions up to 1080i to any HDMI display or projector located up to 33 feet in distance.

Sender and receiver units are fully HDCP-compliant, and because of the system's high transmission speeds (up to 480 Mbps), there are no delays or signal losses. UWB is suited ideally for transmitting very-high-bandwidth data between devices within short range at very high speeds while consuming little power, so it's perfect for small digital-signage applications or residential installations. And its wireless technology will not be affected by the impending DTV transition and bandwidth allocation issue.
