The cords replace standard-component power cords to provide a shorter cord path and a cleaner, more efficient back of rack. IEC power cords allow installers to choose a specific cord length when connecting components to a power strip, effectively shortening cable runs within an enclosure and eliminating excess cable slack, unnecessary cable loops, and the possibility of damaging cable kinks, according to the company.
